Trix: Hi. As of the start of this blog, I am 55 & in the midst of some health issues which have caused some re-thinking of my life. I have always been very healthy, though I have struggled with weight issues. I have some left knee issues - limited strength and motion. Lately, I have been talking with some friends - people I have known for most of my life and with whom I can say anything, and I know I will not be judged. People who love me unconditionally, as I love them. (I hope whoever may read this, have people like this in their lives.) In these conversations, it has become clear that I need to make some drastic changes in my life. I am sick of feeling like crap. I am sick of being fat. I always thought that I'd have an active, vibrant life into my 90's, but now I feel if I don't make some changes, I may not make it to 60. This is not acceptable to me. There are still too many things I want to do. This blog is about the changes. I write it partly because it is what I do; partly because it will keep me accountable; partly because it will keep friends informed without having to repeat the same stories; and lastly, because someone else might relate to it and get something out of it.
